TVI Express Scam- Real Opportunity Or Simply A Scam
Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at 9:54AM
If you’ve spent any amount of time online over the past 12 months, then you’ve probably come across a company called TVI Express, or Travel Ventures International.
They are shattering Network Marketing records all over the show, and are one fastest growing network marketing opportunities in history.
The problem is, currently as TVI is getting ready to spread its wings out of “pre-launch “at the same time there is a growing amount of evidence and talk about TVI being an outright Scam, or an illegal pyramid.
Is TVI Express a Scam?
Well the jury's still out on that one, but ones things for sure, you dig just a liitle, and some things are not adding up...
I know there will be A LOT of people in TVI who will read this post and rubbish it, but I ask you stay open to what I’m going to discuss here and realize that I’m only sharing this information in hopes of protecting people like yourself from investing HUGE amounts of time and money into something that you’re pinning your retirement on.....like I did once upon a time....
From a personal note, 1 year and half ago I was involved with a well know Network Marketing Company that merged with a rapidly growing Travel Company. I not only lost thousands of dollars of advertising money, Many months of hard work, but also my entire pay structure and most of my downline (fortunately some are still with me today), all at the same time.
As you can imagine after 2 years of my life dedicated to this company- I was left feeling absolutely devastated and cheated.
I was disillusioned to the companies culture, and leaders convincing speeches of world domination.... and believed whole heartedly that MY network marketing company was poised to become as the old clichéd statement goes;
“A house hold name”
If never occurred to me that I could lose- EVERYTHING.
But I did.
And that’s what made me realize that relying solely on your network marketing company for your income is like playing Russian Roulette with a fully loaded Glock pistol!!
Seriously if you think YOUR network marketing company is going to be your saviour and replace your 401K at the end of your working years- think again....
Most Network Marketing companies don’t survive their first 1-2 years in operation.
And I’m worried TVI could be one of those.
In fact while you are thinking- do some more reading about how to NOT rely on your MLM Company @:
http://www.switchedonrecruiter.com/
And in essence, that’s WHY I write this review.....not to debunk the reputation of TVI but to share some of my observations I’ve made about “what” and “who” TVI are, and more importantly what exactly it is, that they offer
You may have seen in my earlier video’s about my initial concern of the lack of credible evidence of a stable and transparent Corporate Profile.
For the record; there’s no evidence at all of an owner, CEO, Founder or executive team for that matter on their main corporate website:
Who are the people behind TVI, and why after 12 months in business, no one seems to know who owns or runs this company?
A bit strange wouldn’t you say?
Yes they display pictures and quotes from Warren Buffet (who owns network marketing companies) Donald Trump, Robert Kiyosaki and even Bill Clinton- all advocates of Network Marketing. All advocates of the industry- but in reading their quotations on the site, NONE of which correlated to any resemblance of an endorsement of TVI by these people.
To me it kind of looks like they are “borrowing” the credibility of these business & world leaders, because perhaps they are not prepared to promote their own credibility or lack there of....
...maybe- who’s to say.
That in itself that doesn’t mean a company is a scam I understand, but it certainly has the aroma of a forgotten opened can of sardines in the back of the refrigerator...
That aside- there is many other “red flags” that are making a lot of people in the industry uneasy about TVI.
Most importantly the product.
So what is the product?
And why are we so worried about the clarity of the product?
Well folks-when a company that grows as fast as TVI is currently growing, breaking all sorts of records and gaining a whole lot of attention from the industry and public- has no doubt the honour of ALSO gaining attention from regulating bodies such at the FTC, the BBB(Better Business Bureau) & DSA (Direct Selling Association) to name just a few.
And when an agency such as the FTC starts investigating a Network Marketing company (which eventually happens to ALL opportunities) to see if it’s FTC compliant, the first thing they are going to be looking at, and asking is:
“Is there a legitimate, retail- able, high value product, for the end consumer?”
And unfortunately in the case of TVI it’s not looking too good.
More to the point, the actual product itself does NOT appear to be much of product.
What I mean by this?
Well let’s take a look at what you get when you sign up as a distributor for TVI:
6 night, 7day stay at 4-5 star luxury resort, with a free companion flight.
Well that sounds pretty attractive.
To become a distributor and take advantage of this offer, you are asked to pay $250.00
I mean that sounds like an AWESOME deal does it not?
The problem occurs when the actual product is starting to sound like the opportunity.
You see for your $250.00 you get this “amazing” offer for becoming a distributor, but that aside, upon looking over the main http://TVIexpress.com site I fail to see “WHAT” the actual product really is...
For starters there’s no tab for “product” on their actual site, and when you go into the tab “Media Centre” and “downloads” you can find a 74 slide power point presentation which normally would give you a fairly good indication of what the product is.
(good tip before joining ANY Network Marketing company- watch the PowerPoint)
Unfortunately, out of 74 slides only 5 of which describe any resemblance of a product.
They use terms like:
*Universal appeal
*First to introduce Free Holiday & Flights concepts
* New Category creator
*Various ongoing promotions
*Infinite scope for extension
VERY generalized terms......
I mean come on guys, does this really give you a clear idea of “what the product is”....I don’t know about you but I’m still confused here.
You see you can get your $250 dollar holiday and flight package/voucher for becoming a distributor- (and I’m not going to get into why at $250.00 you’re getting severally ripped off I’ll save that for another post).
But you CAN”T also have that as your opportunity, I mean at the end of the day, by default you are actually getting paid to recruit!
And that my fellow marketer is what makes Network Marketing illegal.
When the lines get fuzzy between what is your product and what is your opportunity- when the two get moulded together then we’ve got ourselves a problem.
And unfortunately, it appears this is exactly what is happening with TVI.
I’m sorry if I’ve ruffled a few feathers here, but as someone that has been previously negatively affected by the disintegration of a major Network Marketing company, and an active internet marketer, I feel that It is my duty to warn others of possible collapses of other companies because of their unscrupulous dealings.
When the FTC investigates and shuts down Network Marketing companies that are non-compliant, it not only goes after the owners and founders, but people like you and I- people who are distributors for that particular opportunity- especially top income earners....
So Top income earners be warned: “KNOW” who you are representing!
To protect yourself from being at the mercy of your Network Marketing company I highly recommend visiting and reading:
http://www.switchedonrecruiter.com and discover why and how it’s important you understand how to stand independently from your opportunity and prosper online no matter what company to choose to represent.
At the end of the day, I actually hope everything I say here turns out to be incorrect and unfounded, and that TVI keeps thriving. Any collapse of ANY Network Marketing company, keeps tarnishing our wonderful industry’s reputation and simply makes it harder for the average person outside of the industry to take us seriously.
Again, this is not an attack on TVI, it is simply my own observations, and my opinions based on simple research that ANYONE can do online.
I advise you to do the same.
